Girls' Ministries of the IPHC
From its inception in 1945, Women's Ministries has realized its responsibility to train the girls in the local church. There have been a variety of program names over the years, but the mission has always been the samewinning girls to Jesus Christ and discipling them using the Titus 2 principle.
Girls' Ministries (GM) is the official name of the IPHC ministry to girls. We adopted the Missionettes curriculum as our discipleship program in the local church in 1999. It is a tremendous program with lessons that are teacher friendly and resources to meet the needs of any size local church. It is an achievement-based program, but it can be used without the awards as well. In recent months, these girls clubs have been split into two basic divisions: Mpact Girls Clubs for pre-school and elementary clubs and Teen Girl Ministries for middle school and high school clubs. The Missionettes name is no longer used although you will still find it in print in older curriculum. In its place, you will see the term Girls' Ministries or a specific reference to one of the two divisions. Local churches who choose not to use the girls clubs curriculum should still endeavor to implement a ministry to girls under the direction of Women's Ministries. Girls' Ministries is one of the many ministry outreaches that your ladies could be involved with in the local church. Monthly or bi-weekly meetings could give your ladies an opportunity to feed into the lives of girls. A planning packet with ideas for monthly meetings is available on the GM website (http://girls.iphc.org/ideapacket.html). Regardless of which avenue you choose, all local churches are encouraged to be involved in the GM ministry outreaches such as Baby Hope Club, PenFriends, events, and other missions projects.
