WM Leadership in the Local Church

The leadership team of each local WM is known as the Women’s Ministries Council (WM Council). You may already be a member of the WM Council as an elected or appointed officer or as the leader of a specific ministry. On the other hand, you may be interested in starting a Women's Ministries from "scratch" or creating a new ministry within an organized WM. In either case, we hope this section will give you information that you can use. Since it is a new addition to the web site, it will take a little time to properly develop. Click on the title links preceding each description to access that page or to download the appropriate file.

Starting a Women's Ministries This page outlines five steps on how to start a Women's Ministries in the local church. It also gives some key terminology and outlines the organizational structure of Women's Ministries.

Downloading Report Forms This page allows you to download the report forms (and other related items) which you will need to file on a quarterly and annual basis as an organized Women's Ministries.

Congregational Survey This two-page survey form is a great tool to use in the local congregation to help leaders determine the demographics and pulse of the ladies. Be sure to include it in your church's new member's packet so that you can stay current with your growing church population. Use this survey to implement custom ministries and outreach programs that fit the ladies of your congregation.

Women's Ministries Day This page directs you to the page that explains the annual Women's Ministries Day and why it is observed. This is a very important day in the year for Women's Ministries and should not be overlooked in the local church.

Pastor Appreciation Day This page highlights information (including downloadable items) on Clergy Appreciation Month which is held each October. This is a special time that congregations set aside each year to honor their pastors for their hard work, sacrificial dedication, and ministry commitment. Sunday, October 7, 2007, is the day that is designated for IPHC churches, but it can be held at any time that is convenient for the church and pastor.

The Pastor Appreciation Planning Guide (English or Spanish) and logos are now available for download without cost from the website of IPHC Men’s and Women’s Ministries. Please contact the office of Men’s Ministries for packets by mail. There will be a minimal charge for printing and shipping costs. Go directly to this page for full details.

Program Packet A specialized set of theme meeting ideas, one for each month of the year. Programs include suggestions for decorating, advertising, refreshments, speakers, devotionals, door prizes, etc. This packet is a great resource for a local congregation just starting a Women’s Ministries group, or a brand new WM Director, looking for ideas to boost the program in her local church. Click here to download the pdf version of "A Year With Women's Ministries." If for some reason you cannot download this 14-page packet, you can order it from: Women's Ministries; P.O. Box 12609; Okla. City, OK 73157.

Time Management This page has some great ideas on developing time management skills.

Record Keeping This page gives some guidelines on keeping good records–financial, historical, and more.
