The 2010 IPHC Women’s Ministries Day offers an opportunity for every church to honor the women of the local church and celebrate their many contributions. March 14, 2010, is a special service where we focus on ministry by and for women in our congregations across the world. This event is listed as an annual event on the IPHC calendar on the second Sunday in March. Check with your pastor to choose a date that works with the schedule of your local congregation.
Your prayers and support are vital to our IPHC General Women’s Ministries as we pursue ministry to women around the world. There are several tools to assist you with your WM Day program including a theme, program materials, posters, bulletin inserts, and ministry starter ideas. These resources are available free by clicking here or a hard copy can be ordered for a small fee. Feel free to add your own inventive touches and tweaks. Remember to advertise, advertise, advertise, and invite family/neighbors/co-workers/friends.
Our program has been written by our very own Kimberly Wilkerson who serves as the administrative assistant in Women’s Ministries. She also serves as the Heartland Conference Girls’ Ministries Director, Children’s Pastor at Passion PH Church, Age-Level Editor for One Accord Resources, and wife to Phil. She is a very talented and gifted lady and WM is blessed to have her on our team.
On this day we ask that you receive an offering for the ongoing support of Women’s Ministries. This is the only time churches are asked to take an offering for the general WM program. The offering goal again is $15,000. Please encourage your people to give generously. I know with everyone working together we can reach our goal.
As part of the WM Day materials, we are also introducing the “Nurture....Give and Get What You Need to Flourish” Bible Study Curriculum by Lisa Bevere. This is awesome material for women of all ages and we believe its truths will not only change your life, but the lives of the women in your sphere of influence. We think it would be awesome for you to begin this study as you are completing your WM Day, so we encourage you to introduce it to your ladies in March of 2010.
The word nurture means, “To encourage somebody or something to grow, develop, and flourish.” Lisa says, “Nurture, the language of the feminine heart, is being restored as women arise, recognize each other, and begin to connect for strength and purpose.”
My prayer for your WM Day and bible study time is that you will connect with women of ALL ages, recognizing their gifts and talents and encouraging them to use them for the Glory of God. Remember, we are not truly flourishing until we are helping others to flourish as well!
